All local authorities will receive planning applications for renewable energy sites. Where local authorities have managed to categorise these in a structured way, we are provided with such data (in either point or polygon format), from which we have attempted to select only those sites that look to be approved, pending and/ or operational (i.e. removing rejected or withdrawn applications). We have also received separate files of data showing working renewable energy sites - both as point and polygon, and we have attempted to merge all of this data together to form national data layers.
