This is the new weekly Accident & Emergency (A&E) open data area. From 2 May 2023 the weekly attendance and waiting times statistics at Emergency Departments (EDs) across Scotland will be published here. The monthly A&E open data statistics can be found here.\r\n\r\nPlease note as of the 4th of February 2025 there have been some updates to the open data. The data now includes new planned activity and this data is available from December 2020. Further information on new planned activity can be found here. The Department Type names have changed and Type 1 replaces ED and Type 3 replaces MIU/Other. Further information is available in the A&E Data Recording manual.\r\n\r\nPlease also note that the Weekly Accident and Emergency Activity data now contains a breakdown by attendance category with New Planned and Unplanned and an All which is a combination of the New Planned and Unplanned. When doing calculations on the data either filter out All or Unplanned/New Planned to prevent double counting.\r\n\r\nThis release by Public Health Scotland (PHS), provides a weekly update of key statistics on attendances at Emergency Departments (EDs) across Scotland. The information includes trends in the number of attendances and proportion waiting over 4, 8 and 12 hours.\r\n\r\nThese statistics do not reflect all types of A&E activity and they should not be used to monitor against the 4-hour A&E access standard.\r\n\r\nFurther information on A&E services across Scotland can be found here.
